    I WOULD like to convey my warm thanks to Mayor Val Wood and those enlightened councillors who have fought long and hard for the excellent and much appreciated skate park in Abbey Park. We are becoming a nation of obese couch potatoes and grumpy old persons and this valuable asset will help to redress the balance as well as being a lot of fun. read more

  • Setting the blueprint for Vale's traffic

    THE County Council, who are the highway authority, will shortly be carrying out a traffic survey in the centre of Evesham. When Swan Lane and Mill Bank were made into a one-way system, the County Council promised that it would review the situation in six months! Years later it is going to look into the matter due to the problems with the Abbey Road Bridge. read more

  • Petanque elan

    In reply to Mr Marsh's letter (or is it Mrs?) in last week's Journal regarding the petanque courts (pistes), may I suggest that he (or she), parks opposite the courts in the convieniently sited parking spaces, and walks across to the courts, where he will see a notice board which will answer all of the queries eg when available, club details etc. read more

    I read the letter sent to you by E Marsh about the so called lack of imformation about the new facilty on the Workman Gardens ,which was built by the town partnership scheme ,who have invested a lot of money to enchance waterside to both local people and visitors to the town. read more
