Wolff befriended me some 40 years ago, and while I grew older in that span Wolff never quite seemed to. He was always ready with an apt observation, a sharp, sometimes slightly discomfiting insight, delivered with panache and an utterly disarming sense of humor. As all of his loved ones, friends and acquaintances will attest, Wolff, while perhaps small in stature, was ever so large in presence.
I will never forget the kindness, generosity and hospitality he showed a young Yank with a backpack those many years ago, and always thereafter.
My deepest condolences to his beautiful daughter, Chris and her partner, Ray, to Christa and the family in Germany, and to all of Wolff's many, many friends.
Wolff, when I have my evening cuppa (a nice milky one), I will always have a thought for you, mate!
