Here is a picture of Phyl with Sister Margaret Hadley and Sister-in-Law Christine Sedgley on 30/5/2010 at a commemoration service for her brother Richard held at Hoveringham where his Lancaster JB125 crashed killing all the crew. Phyl always said his death broke her mother's heart (he was just 19) and she was never heard to sing a she hung out the washing or carried out her housekeeping again. Phyl was devoted to the memory of her family.

Auntie Phyl (far right wearing a poppy, picture taken 27/10/2015)standing next to her beloved sister Margaret, Shirley and Nicola who cared and supported her to the end, far left. She was great aunt to my children Mimi & Flora and never forgot their birthdays. Just like her brother Doug (my dad) she worked right to the end of her life. As a true countrywoman she lived close to nature, the local wild birds will sorely miss her generous feeding. She had the warmth and generosity of spirit shared by her brothers and sisters, the churchyard is now richly populated with Sedgley's, the village sadly not.
